Everything feels different, and nothing is the same as it was. Almost everything in our world now seems unfamiliar. Like the wildfires of last year, it feels like so many things have been destroyed, yet we are simultaneously nourished by what's left behind, with a path to new growth - though at first it may appear desolate.
Zina and I have recently experienced many major transitions of our own. With the dissolving of our flagship project, we turned inward to reflect and embraced a period of deep, deep transitioning, which is still ongoing. Major life changes and destruction can mold us, like iron in the blacksmith's fire, through a time of reshaping and rebirth. We feel like butterflies just emerging from our cocoons - wings wet, fragile, and not yet ready to fly - yet excited to begin the next stage of our journey together.
